Conference of the data protection authorities from the Central and Eastern Europe

 

In the period 2nd - 4th of June 2009 will take place in Sinaia the 11th Annual Conference of the Data Protection Authorities from the Central and Eastern Europe, organised by the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing.

At the reunion general aspects concerning the evolutions in the personal data protection field registered in each country, in the context of the relation between the right to privacy - biometrics - business sector - new technologies will be debated.

This conference will convene specialists from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Romania and we hope that will represent an opportunity to identify the adequate means of reaction of the European data protection authorities in the context of the technological development trends in the contemporary society.

Due to the necessity of cooperation and consultation regarding certain current aspects, the reunions at high level of the Data Protection Authorities from the Central and Eastern Europe started in 2001, this way a forum for debating and elaborating certain joint solutions to the particular problems specific to personal data protection in the Central and Eastern Europe countries was set up.
