Online essays competition for students
The National Supervisory Authority is organising an online essays competition addressed to the students, having as subject ”The Protection of personal data within the educational system in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic”, with the occasion of the anniversary, on 25th of May, 2021, of three years as of the date on which the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) has entered into force.
The competition is addressed to students, the registration shall be made by sending an essay from the e-mail address of the participant together with his/her consent, until the 18th of June 2021, 12:00.
In order to participate to the contest, it is necessary to establish the capacity of student. In this respect, the participant shall proof that he/she is a student by providing a relevant document issued by the higher education institution to which he/she is enrolled (for example, copy of the student pass stamped for the current academic year by blurring the personal data, except for the first name and last name; document issued by the higher education institution from which it results that the participant is enrolled at the courses organised by that higher education institution, by blurring the personal data except for the first name and last name).
The essay shall have maximum 10 pages and shall be drafted using Times New Roman, 12 and a line spacing of 1.5. The 10 pages shall include the footnotes, as the case may be, as well as the bibliography.
The essays shall be submitted at the e-mail address dedicated to the competition: eseu2021@dataprotection.ro.
The winner of the competition will be announced on 25th of June, 2021 and the prize will be represented by an internship at the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing.
