The National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing completed an investigation into Dormeo Home SRL in May 2026 and found that the company had infringed Articles 6 and 21(3) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

As a result, the controller was imposed an administrative fine of 5,236 lei (equivalent to 1,000 euros).

The investigation was initiated following a complaint submitted by a data subject alleging a possible infringement of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

The investigation established that, although the data subject had exercised their right to object, the controller continued to contact the individual by telephone for direct marketing purposes. Consequently, the controller unlawfully processed the data subject’s personal data by failing to respect the exercise of that right.

In addition, during the investigation, the National Supervisory Authority ordered the controller the corrective measure to implement the necessary measures to ensure that the processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes complies with data subjects’ right to object, in accordance with Articles 6 and 21 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
