Courses at the Police Academy

 

On 15th of May 2023, the representatives of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing held two courses for the students from the final years of the Police Academy Alexandru Ioan Cuza.

The first course envisaged general aspects on the statute and organization of our institution, together with the main concepts and processing rules for the personal data established under the General Data Protection Regulation. Also, for the complete clarification of the auditorium some examples from the effective activity in the data protection field were presented.

The second course approached the new regulation regarding the Schengen acquis, with a special emphasis on Law no. 76/2023 on the organisation and functioning of the National Information System for Alerts and participation of Romania to the Schengen Information System, as well as for the amendment of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 194/2002 on the legal status of aliens in Romania through which the application of the European SIS Regulations in ensured in our country.

In this context, we note the high interest of the students materialized in the interactive debates generated.
