On the 16th of December 2019 the Romanian-French Colloquium organised by the National Union of Notaries Public took place. The discussions also addressed the problem of the obligations of public notaries from the perspective of specific regulations in the field of personal data protection.
The National Supervisory Authority for Processing of Personal Data was also represented at this event and the debates were aimed at the effective application, in the notary activity, of the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation, of Law no. 129/2018, of Law no. 190/2018 regarding some measures for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation, as well as of the Decisions issued by the National Supervisory Authority.
Thus, issues of practical applicability have been addressed, in particular, regarding the rules of data processing, ensuring of the data subjects’ rights, the measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the codes of conduct, the notification of the breach of the security of personal data and the quality of controller of the entities provided by Law no. 36/1995 of notaries public and notary activity.
