1. The National Supervisory Authority finalized an investigation at Megareduceri TV S.R.L., during which it found a breach of certain provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Thus, Megareduceri TV S.R.L. was sanctioned for not fulfilling the ordered corrective measure to send a response to the requests of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing, thus violating the instructions of our institution, a fact provided by Article 83 paragraph (5) letter e) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. As such, the controller was sanctioned with a fine in the amount of 14,519.1 lei (equivalent to the amount of 3,000 euros).

At the same time, a corrective measure to send to the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing, within 5 calendar days, a response to the previously communicated letters was also applied to the controller Megareduceri TV S.R.L., pursuant to Article 58 paragraph (2) letter d) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

The investigation was launched as a result of the fact that several petitioners notified the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing about the fact that they received by sms commercial messages promoting the services on the site www.reducerazi.ro, without having consented to receive such messages on personal telephone numbers.

2. The National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing finalized an investigation to the Owners’ Association Militari R, Chiajna village, Ilfov county, during which it found the infringement of certain provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Thus, the owners' association was sanctioned for not fulfilling the ordered corrective measure to send a response to the requests of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing, thus violating the instructions of our institution, deed provided by Article 83 paragraph (5) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. As such, the controller was sanctioned with a fine in the amount of 9,659 lei, the equivalent of the amount of 2,000 euros.

At the same time, a corrective measure to send in writing to the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing, within 5 calendar days, all the information requested by the previously communicated letter was applied to the owners' association, pursuant to Article (58) paragraph (1) letters a) and e) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

The sanctions were imposed following a complaint of the petitioner claiming that the request sent to the owners’ association had not been answered.
