EDPB Plenary
During the European Data Protection Board Plenary, held remotely on 30th and 31st of March 2021, the EDPB-EDPS Joint Opinion 04/2021 on the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on a framework for the issuance, verification and acceptance of interoperable certificates on vaccination, testing and recovery was adopted.
Through this document, EDPB and EDPS have underlined some aspects able to lead to the consistency of the Proposal with the necessity and proportionality principles provided under the General Data Protection Regulation, together with the assurance of the appropriate guarantees corresponding to the processing operations involved.
